Politics
During the week, local affairs were marked by the Sant Just Desvern City Council plenary session, which was exceptionally brought forward to April 29. The session unanimously approved a protocol for the prevention and response to sexual harassment and discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation and gender identity, as well as the Municipal Road Inventory. The plenary also rejected a motion on public safety presented by Endavant Sant Just and approved a budget modification and a motion on the coexistence of personal mobility vehicles.
Society
Social activity focused on several local initiatives. The Casal Popular La Sala will celebrate its anniversary on May 9 with activities including a paella contest, roundtable discussion and drag show. A new volunteer training session for En Bici Sense Edat has also been announced for May 15 to expand the project’s team. In addition, SEAS Jove will mark its 5th anniversary on May 16 with a festive event featuring an orienteering race, activities and live music, reinforcing its role as an active local group.

Meanwhile, local resident Pau Ortí was recognized as one of the most active users of the AMBICI bike-sharing service, highlighting both daily usage and recent service improvements.

Labor data show that Sant Just Desvern maintains an unemployment rate of 4.9%, below the Baix Llobregat average of 7.5%. The municipality records 480 unemployed residents and presents stronger employment indicators, with lower unemployment rates among both men and women, although long-term unemployment remains significant.
Culture
The cultural agenda stands out with the return of the Juny Fotogràfic, celebrating its 15th anniversary with exhibitions, activities and workshops throughout June. The conference ‘Pedra Seca’ organized by AUGGE will also explore the cultural and heritage value of this traditional technique. Additionally, the band Ramoneta has presented its author-driven rock project, emphasizing collective creation and lyrical depth.
Education
In education, study room hours have been extended during the exam period at facilities such as the Soledat Sans Serafini Civic Center and the Joan Margarit Library. Meanwhile, Escola Canigó will take part in the 15th Regional Alternative Games Meeting, bringing together more than 430 students at Castelldefels beach in a day focused on play and social interaction.
Technology
Ràdio Desvern has introduced an artificial intelligence chatbot that allows users to quickly access archive content. The tool enables searches for programs, interviews and news through natural language queries, improving navigation and access to a digital archive spanning more than a decade.
Sports
Sports news has been marked by the final match of HC Sant Just in the OK Liga, to be played on May 1 at the Bonaigua pavilion against SHUM Maçanet. The team will bid farewell to the top division following relegation and has called on supporters to fill the stands for this final appearance.
