Culture
Sant Just's Festa Major (Town Festival) has dominated much of the local cultural news. The Festival Committee put this year's official festival scarves on sale, while several highlights of the festival program were announced. These included the debut of the Camerata Sant Just with a concert dedicated to Hans Zimmer, El Cub's electronic music party at Can Ginestar, Ràdio Desvern's special live program featuring the broadcast of the official opening speech, and the new family scavenger hunt, 'El Gran Joc de Sant Just', organized by Trail Barcelona to help participants discover the town's heritage. The program for the festival bars ("barraques") was also unveiled, featuring concerts, a community dinner and activities between La Bonaigua and the secondary school grounds, along with a new creative drawing workshop at Ateneu Sant Just. The week concluded with the presentation of the events scheduled for the festival's final day, including the Festival Mass, family shows, the Solidarity Vermouth, sardana dancing, havanera performances and the Fire Show. In addition, local author Marta Martínez presented her book El lenguaje de luz. Eres multidimensional.
Politics
The Municipal Council approved the dismissal of the claim submitted by the Vall i Fatjó Compensation Board regarding the Carretera Reial development agreement, as well as an amendment to the Rapid Intervention Unit (UIR) contract to strengthen the maintenance of municipal facilities. The meeting was the last one before the summer recess.
Society
In the area of international cooperation, residents have been reminded that only a few days remain to vote for the projects that will share the €10,000 allocated by the municipal budget to the Catalan Fund for Development Cooperation. It was also announced that La Bonaigua's indoor swimming pool will remain closed throughout August for improvement works. In addition, registration for the El Mil·lenari Social Centre activities will open on 2 September, offering programs such as tai chi, yoga, memory training, stretching, healthy back exercises, Mou-te ("Get Moving") and dance.
Mobility
The Town Council has announced a series of traffic restrictions between 29 July and 6 August due to the Festa Major celebrations. Several streets will be affected during events such as the opening parade, 'Quina Barra!', the water slide activity and the Fire Show. Residents are advised to plan their journeys in advance and follow the instructions of the Local Police.
