Society
Social affairs were highlighted by the announcement of the talk ‘Homelessness in Contemporary Society’, organized by Justice and Peace and featuring Montse Hernàndez from the Arrels Foundation. The event aims to reflect on the reality faced by people experiencing homelessness.
Meanwhile, Walden7 will host the second edition of its second-hand market, a community initiative promoting reuse and neighborhood participation. Sant Just and Esplugues will also welcome the annual gathering of the Network of Community Centres and Cultural Associations of the Catalan Countries, taking place from 29 to 31 May.

Economy
According to the latest data from the Baix Llobregat Observatory, Sant Just remains one of the municipalities with the lowest unemployment rates in the county, standing at 4.8% with 480 unemployed residents. The figures show stability compared with the previous month and a slight improvement over 2025.
Tourism
The central area of Baix Llobregat, which includes Sant Just, recorded the highest hotel occupancy rate in the county during the first quarter of the year, reaching 60.8%. The figures also reflect the positive impact of the Mobile World Congress, which boosted overnight stays and hotel activity across the area.
Politics
The latest municipal council meeting approved two significant measures: a new sexual harassment protocol for Town Hall staff and the municipal pathways inventory. According to Mayor Joan Basagañas, the measures are intended to strengthen workplace protection and guarantee public access to pathways of public interest, particularly in the Collserola natural area.
Environment
La Vagoneta will host the workshop “(RE)PAIR YOURSELF: Making Scented Cushions”, an activity included in the Repara’t program. Participants will reuse fabric scraps and aromatic plants to create handmade cushions while promoting sustainable habits and the reuse of materials.
