Mobility

Sant Just has once again stood out for its use of AMBici, with 8.9% of the working-age population using the service, the highest rate in the metropolitan network. In addition, a new station in Can Candeler is planned for the first quarter of 2027.

Education

The Local Catalan Service has opened enrollment for adult courses this week, with levels ranging from beginner to C2. At the same time, the City Council is keeping applications open until 31 October for grants for extracurricular, sports, cultural and educational support activities for children and teenagers.

New data on early childhood education enrollment in Baix Llobregat has also been released: the rate among 0 to 5-year-olds has reached 70.6%, while the first cycle, from ages 0 to 2, has reached a record high of 48.5%.

Health

El Mil·lenari Social Centre hosted a cognitive stimulation workshop to mark World Alzheimer’s Day, organized by AFA Baix Llobregat. Economy

Unemployment rose by 4.3% in Sant Just during August, reaching 529 registered unemployed people. The local unemployment rate stands at 5.4%, below the 7.7% recorded across Baix Llobregat.

Politics

Junts spokesperson in Sant Just, Ramon Figuerola, faced a trial in which prosecutors sought a two-year prison sentence, disqualification from public office and a fine in a case that he links to a tweet published in 2019.

Mayor Joan Basagañas has also opened the new political season on Ràdio Desvern, reviewing issues including Carretera Reial, public housing, the return to school, the Festa Major and various municipal incidents and projects.

Crime

The Spanish National Police seized 1,351 kilograms of cocaine from a house in Sant Just allegedly being used as a storage facility. The operation, which also included raids in Málaga, led to the seizure of more than 2,700 kilograms of cocaine, the arrest of 15 people and the remand in custody of 12 of them.
