Education

This week has brought several initiatives aimed at children, young people and families. La Tribu has organised a talk with social educator Fran Rojas on adolescence, boundaries, emotional management and family communication. In addition, 778 Ecological Transition diaries have been distributed to secondary school students and 50 calendars to primary schools, featuring content on energy and sustainability. The Espai Nadó will also hold an open day on 29 September at the Marrecs Nursery School for families with babies up to 10 months old.

Culture

Cultural activity has also featured prominently this week. The Ateneu’s Sala Piquet will host the 30 best images from the 2026 SEAS Photography Competition, while the Sala del Cinquantenari will welcome the show ‘Qui sap? Contes Zen’, featuring Nico Bassó.

A new creative writing workshop for young people aged 12 to 16, led by Sant Just writer Paula Vidal, has also been announced. The Agrupació Fotogràfica Sant Just will also present its 2026–2027 season, featuring workshops, competitions, exhibitions and photography outings.

In music, 17-year-old Sant Just resident Emma Mangas will perform at La Mercè after winning a competition organised by Búhos and CanLletres, where she will perform ‘Serà perquè t’estimo’. Meanwhile, Laura Simó and The Moonrivers will bring the concert ‘Un jazz de pel·lícula’ to the Ateneu, featuring a repertoire of film soundtracks.

Society

A court has cancelled nearly €46,000 of debt owed by a Sant Just resident who had become insolvent, while also establishing a repayment plan of €281.56 per month for three years.

‘El Llobregat per la Diabetis’ has also been presented, a 180-kilometre charity route aimed at raising funds for type 1 diabetes research. In Sant Just, there will be a charity stand at La Bonaigua, and several local residents will take part in the final section of the route. Meanwhile, local senior citizens will take part in a five-day stay in La Ràpita with activities focused on discovering the Ebro area.

The Summer Fest will close its first edition on 26 September in Plaça de la Pau, with extreme sports, activities and a party running into the early hours.

Solidarity

Sant Just will host two talks as part of the Autumn Tour of Human Rights Defending Cities. Zainab Saberi will discuss the situation of women in Afghanistan, while Gonzalo Abaha Nguema Mikue will address the situation of the LGBTQ+ community in Equatorial Guinea.

Sports

La Bonaigua will host a martial arts event featuring 25 bouts and 50 fighters on 17 October, including boxing, kickboxing and professional taekwondo. This week also saw the announcement of the opening of the new Pickleball Bonaigua school and club in Sant Just.

Youth

The Casal de Joves has held an open week allowing young people to try the term-long courses free of charge on the same day and at the same time they will take place during the term.

Environment

Sant Just has reached 68.1% separate waste collection, the highest figure recorded so far, while the municipal recycling centre has increased the amount of waste collected by 32%. The municipality now ranks among the top five in the Barcelona metropolitan area for waste separation.

Urban planning

The Town Council will carry out four public lighting improvement projects on Carrer Esports, Carrer Marquès de Monistrol, the Camp Roig road and Parc del Mil·lenari. EDISTRIBUCIÓN will also carry out several works on public roads.

Tourism and gastronomy

Sant Just collected €154,058 in tourist tax revenue during the first half of 2025, 19.4% more than the previous year and equivalent to 7.6% of the county-wide total.

In gastronomy, El Mirador de Sant Just is taking part in the ‘Samfaina al Baix Llobregat’ campaign, which brings together 32 restaurants offering dishes made with fresh, seasonal produce from the Parc Agrari.
